Have you seen our Advertising News Portal? Using RSS and AJAX, we offer up-to-date news stories from across the advertising industry. Whether you’re interested in traditional news, interactive news, emerging media news or international advertising news, it’s all there and it’s all very frequently.
We made a few changes to it recently. Admittedly, one of the biggest problems with the portal, more accurately termed an aggregator, is that it was slow to show you all of the news. We had to go and get a whole lot of information from the database when users visited the site. The result was that there was an up to 15 second delay between the time the page loaded and when data actually appeared. That’s no longer the case. When you visit the URL, the page appears. We’re pretty happy about that — and hope you will be too. The other change is that we made the instructions a bit more visual. We got some feedback that all text instructions have little purpose and we didn’t see any value in instructions that lack purpose.
