I own more domain addresses than I reasonably need. I own so many in fact that it’s rare that I go a month without GoDaddy generously auto-renewing a domain name (or three). I assure you I had a particular thing in mind when I bought each domain name. For the life of me, however, if the domain name doesn’t tell the story, I can’t remember why I heck bought a few of them.
Anyway, I decided that if GoDaddy was going to charge me for these things I might as well try to make some money off of them. So, I just signed up for WhyPark. WhyPark (www.whypark.com) allows people like me (and maybe you) to park domains with content that might actually be useful to someone. You essentially create a web site on your parked domain. You can then place ads (e.g. Google, AdBrite, etc.) from which you can make money. I just started over the weekend, so who knows how effective this will be.
You can check out my sites at www.spiritualnotreligious.com, www.blackandsingle.com, www.lovetasy.com, www.hispanicandsingle.com and madisonand42nd.com.
FYI, WhyPark requires a one-time fee of $100 to host up to 100 domains on their site. I figured it’s worth a shot. I’ll keep you updated as to my progress.
